Helen Thomas resigned yesterday as columnist for Hearst Newspapers and ended nearly 50 years as a White House correspondent. Her retirement came on the heels of a controversial video that went viral, in which she told a White House visitor that Israelis need to "get the hell out of Palestine" and return back to their homes in Germany and Poland.
