Revolutionary Snake Ensemble

The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, a brass-heavy funk/street beat band led by sax player and composer Ken Field, has often stopped by the Soundcheck studio in the past -- either on their way down to or coming back from the big Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans. This year, the group is simply on their way to Brooklyn. They play a live performance for us. 

The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble is like a New Orleans marching band, except that they don’t march, and they’re not from New Orleans. But aside from that, this Cambridge, Mass.-based brass band is just like the funky, omnivorous, hard-partying bands of New Orleans. They’ll bring the party to our studio.

The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble is a Boston-based, New Orleans-inspired collective that mixes the brass band sound with improvisation and funk. They join us for a live performance.

The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble perform at their CD release party tonight at Drom at 8pm.
