Four Seasons in an Afghan Village

Anna Badkhen first traveled to Afghanistan in 2001, as a war correspondent and has returned many times since, drawn by the exquisite tradition of carpet weaving. In The World Is a Carpet: Four Seasons in an Afghan Village, Badkhen traced the creation of a new carpet as it is woven by the women and children of the remote village Oqa, then she follows the carpet out into the world beyond.
