Michele Rusnak is Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance, Administration and Business Affairs at New York Public Radio. New York Public Radio owns and operates WNYC-FM, WNYC-AM, WQXR, the four stations of New Jersey Public Radio, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, www.wnyc.org, www.wqxr.org and www.thegreenespace.org. Its shows, stations and digital properties reach 11.5 million people each month on average.
In her role, Rusnak oversees strategic planning and day-to-day operations for several key departments within the organization including - Finance, Legal, Broadcast and Business Technology and Facilities. Rusnak is responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the nonprofit multimedia company. This includes the management of operating budgets for all brands and productions, as well as organization-wide financial reporting, financial planning and asset management. Rusnak was responsible for the build-out of the organization’s 75,000 square foot new facility in West Soho that includes The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space in 2009. Rusnak joined New York Public Radio in 2003 as Director of Finance.
Prior to this, Rusnak served as Vice President of Finance at ACTV, Inc., a publicly-held digital media company. At ACTV, she oversaw the financial operations of the organization until the company was purchased in 2003. Rusnak began her career at Arthur Andersen LLP where she served in the Attestation Division, managing audits for large and medium-sized companies and the Business Consulting Division, consulting on systems and financial processes.
Rusnak earned a BS from Boston College and is a licensed CPA in the state of New York. She is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. A long-time fan of public radio, Rusnak resides in Jersey City with her husband and son.
