Filmmakers Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, creators of the docu-series “Brick City,” about Newark, New Jersey, talk about the series. They’re joined by inactive gang member Dashaun "Jiwe" Morris, who in Season 2 is struggling with an attempted murder charge that will force him to choose between a plea deal that would send him to prison for six years or a trial that could result in a much longer sentence, and his defense attorney, Brooke Barnett. "Brick City" airs Sundays at 8 pm on the Sundance Channel.
Mark Benjamin, Salon.com's national correspondent and the reporter who first brought the abuses at Arlington National Cemetery to light, discusses how his year-long investigation culminated in both the firing of the top two officials at the cemetery as well as an ongoing Senate investigation. An Army investigation recently found gross negligence at the nation's most well-known cemetery—including over 6,000 misidentified graves, bodies interred on top of each other, and remains found in, what was assumed to be, an empty grave.
Over 200 bodies may have been misidentified or misplaced at Arlington National Cemetery, the Army said on Thursday. Arlington National Cemetery's superintendent and deputy have been ousted following a newly released Pentagon report revealing misidentified graves and poor record keeping.
