Opinion: What if we Blamed Obama for the IHOP Shooting? Crazy, Huh?

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

It's been months since Tucson but it's hard to forget the repulsive behavior exhibited by so many on the left. The finger-pointing in the wake of that tragedy was unacceptable and unforgettable. To have the president shrug at these sorts of comments from someone on his own side, while sharing a stage, is a problem.

Setting the Week: Palin, Perry, and the Prospect of Austerity

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Not having Perry on the stage will probably hurt everybody else. There will not be that target to shoot for. It's not necessarily about whether Perry is going to go on attack, but whether anyone else will go on attack against Perry. Mitt Romney is in the Pawlenty position right now.

Opinion: Don't Blame Sarah Palin for Wanting, or Getting, the Spotlight

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Is it unfair for her to capture and hold this type of attention despite not being a candidate? Absolutely not, and it's not her job to dissuade the press from reporting on her every move.

Opinion: What's Really Behind the 'Bachmann is Stupid' Theme? The Usual Liberal Smugness

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Gaffes by Republicans are spread far and wide as evidence by liberals that these people with whom they disagree are not just wrong on the issues, they're stupid.

Opinion: Huntsman's Global Warming Question Exposes a Double-Standard for GOP

Friday, August 19, 2011

Huntsman's comment is a dog-whistle to his only constituency: The liberal media who scoffs at those backward types who might question theories such as evolution or global warming.

Opinion: Rick Perry - Here Comes our GOP Hero

Saturday, August 13, 2011

He's conservative enough, he's photogenic, well-spoken, has executive experience and he just might save the Republican Party, and the country, from another term of Barack Obama.

Opinion: The Zazi Terror Trial Illustrates Media's Pro-Muslim Bias

Monday, July 18, 2011

So he lied in his responses to those "innocent-sounding" questions? And then tried to destroy evidence? That almost sounds like...he may not be innocent!

Opinion: Give Murdoch Credit for Shuttering News of the World

Monday, July 11, 2011

Liberals shouldn't get too gleeful, too late that the recent awful, disgusting scandal involving the News of the World in the UK, will not have much of an effect on their most-hated TV station. Yes, they're both owned by Rupert Murdoch, but there's nothing to imply that there is a top-down culture that condones disrupting police investigations.

Opinion: Why GOP Candidates Should Support Indie Music

Friday, July 01, 2011

Every campaign season, without fail, a Republican candidate or elected official is asked to stop playing some celebrity musician's music at their campaign appearances. It's a one-day story, liberals get to point and laugh while Conservatives get to feel bad about being arbitrarily hated.

The default position for famous people ...

Opinion: Obama's Wavering Ways - A President With No Principle

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Obama is anti-war, except when starting one with Libya. He is against the "Bush tax cuts" except when he extends them. He opposes gay marriage with a wink, wink that maybe he actually supports gay marriage. This is a man without principle.

Opinion: Jon Huntsman is no GOP Savior

Friday, June 17, 2011

Like Jon Huntsman, our last losing presidential candidate was a media darling, a maverick, and nothing like a "traditional" Republican. Those Republicans, the ones with few conservative principles and with a base built around media professionals who stroke their egos and then vote for the Democrat, don't win. As much as the media piled on George W. Bush, pushing his frat boy image, mocking him as stupid, and calling his rather moderate policies extremely right-wing, Bush won. Twice. Media love means little in actual elections.

Can Rep. Anthony Weiner Survive the Scandal?

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) admitted Monday to sending lewd photos of himself to women he met online. The revelation came after Weiner denied sending photos of himself, saying that his Twitter account was hacked. In a lengthy and teary press conference, Rep. Weiner apologized to his wife, his family and the media for his behavior. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called for an investigation of Weiner. Can the congressman survive the scandal?

The Case Against Weiner: Why He Should Leave Office

Monday, June 06, 2011

Weiner proclaimed himself a victim and his supporters treated him as such. In the comments on my own post on this blog I was accused of "smearing" the Congressman when in actuality I was pointing out that the simplest explanation is usually the right one.

-Karol Markowicz, calling for Rep. Anthony Weiner to step down.

The Curious Case of Anthony Weiner: Could the Twitter Scandal be Real?

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

To note that this is fishy is an understatement. My husband only follows 37 people on twitter and if one of them was a college girl he didn't know, I'd have a slight issue with that.

-Karol Markowicz, on Rep. Anthony Weiner's claims that a lewd photo sent from his twitter account to a female follower was the result of hackers.

Why Romney's Authenticity Problem Won't Go Away

Monday, May 16, 2011

The first time I saw Mitt Romney on the national stage I thought what everyone invariably thinks: He's straight out of central casting to play the role of president.

Unfortunately for Mitt in 2008, presidential aspirations were only skin deep.

That's partially the problem, of course, that Mitt Romney is, as the old expression goes, great from far but far from great.

Why the GOP Field Wants - but Shouldn't Get - Chris Christie

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

The GOP field is still forming but people can't help but fall for Chris Christie, the savior of New Jersey and the plain-spoken governor who isn't afraid to tell people how things really are, even if it means his own poll numbers suffer.

The S.C. Debate's Would-be (and Should-be) Heroes

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

I just find the idea of his candidacy nonsensical. If you were an elected official and couldn't win re-election in your own state, how in the world do you then become president? You don't. Get off the stage.

Essay: Obama vs. 'Birther' Trump? Advantage, The Donald
