Celebrated fiddler Mark O'Connor, virtuoso bassist John Patitucci and young guitarist Julian Lage joined forces for the first time earlier this year as equal members of a trio that explores styles like Western and gypsy swing. The group joined us during their run at the Blue Note for a live performance.

Jazz fans and guitar wonks have been watching Julian Lage’s career for years. He was the subject of a documentary film in 1997, played at the Grammys in 2000, and released two albums with the veteran vibes player Gary Burton in ’04 and ’05. Then in 2007, he turned twenty. The now-23-year old wunderkind returns to our studio with some new music and a live performance.
