Monday, August 09, 2010
Joshua Hammer, New York Review of Books contributor, explores the effects of the global financial crisis on Dubai: a city only recently on the brink of fortune and success. He discusses the origins of the "Dubai fantasy" and the problems inherent in its construction and maintenance, Dubai's identity as a world city and the stark realities of its economic recession.
