Texas-born singer songwriter Jolie Holland got her start in roots trio the Be Good Tanyas, but she’s been releasing literate solo works under her own name for nearly a decade. Her songwriting -- with its roots in folk, traditional country, jazz and a bit of the blues -- captured the fancy of Tom Waits, who nominated her 2003 debut, “Catalpa,” for the Short List Music Prize. Holland’s now poised to release a brand new album, called “Pint of Blood. She’ll join us to preview songs from the record, live in our studio.
