My name is Irina Sverzhanovskaya and I was born in Minsk, Belarus. I am 17-years-old. I'm interested in finding out more about Chernobyl and ways to help the people there. My plan for the future is to go to college and succeed in life.
I live in The Bronx, New York. My neighborhood is really mixed.
One interesting fact about me is that I am committed to things that I set my mind to. (October 2009)
Alexandra is the opposite of me. She doesn't like doing her homework, she's heavy and she's lazy.

Rookie Reporter Irina was born in Belarus 6 years after the Chernobyl disaster. Belarus bore the brunt of the radiation fallout and her family moved to the Bronx to escape the contamination. Now, Irina and her family attribute many of their health problems to the radiation.
