Dan Lauria, who stars in “A Christmas Story, the Musical,” and Irwin Zwilling, Jean Shepherd’s best friend who holds the rights to his work, talk about turning story from a movie classic to a Broadway musical spectacular. Set in 1940s Indiana, Ralphie has a big imagination and one wish for Christmas—a Red Ryder® BB Gun. A kooky leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a cranky department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas dream. It’s playing through December 30 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
Dan Lauria and Judith Light, the two lead actors in the play “Lombardi,” talk about their roles. The play, based on the best-selling biography When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi, by David Maraniss, tells the story of one of America’s most inspirational and mercurial personalities, Hall of Fame football coach, Vince Lombardi. “Lombardi” is playing at The Circle in the Square Theatre.
Dan Lauria stopped by The Leonard Lopate Show to talk about his favorite comfort food, what he is a fan of, and more!
