Cristian Farias is a legal editor with More Perfect. When he's not nerding out with the crew about the law, Cristian writes about it for New York magazine, where he focuses on the messy intersection of law and politics. He is also a writer-in-residence at the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, a premier civil-rights law firm founded by the late, great Thurgood Marshall. Previously, Cristian was a legal affairs reporter with The Huffington Post, where he covered the Supreme Court and national legal issues. Over the years, his articles and insights have appeared in The New York Times, Slate, The New Republic, Fusion, Fox News Latino, and New York's El Diario, among other publications. In a prior life, Cristian was an entertainment journalist and later, in a professional twist, became a probation officer with the New Jersey court system, a job that sparked his interest in criminal law and civil rights. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and the City University of New York School of Law.
