Blitz the Ambassador

Friday, July 01, 2011

Ghana-born, New York-based MC Blitz the Ambassador came to the U.S. to attend college—but stayed to immerse himself in the New York hip hop scene. His second release, “Native Sun,” sounds like a love letter to his home continent, with Afro-influenced songs like “Dear Africa,” “Accra City Blues,” and Wahala.” Blitz carried that love letter back to Ghana himself, when visited his home city of Accra to make a short film that accompanies the album. He joins us with his band to perform tracks from his new release.
