It's that time of year when Billboard Magazine releases its Song of Summer - the most cheerful and inescapable tune played between Memorial and Labor Days. You probably won't be surprised - it's Carly Rae Jepson's 'Call Me Maybe'. It's an enchanting song you can't quite ever elude, whether you're in the car or at the mall, since you're getting blasted by your friends and kids who are happily singing along.

Billboard chose the tune because Jepson's song spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. During that time, it saw more play when the U.S. Olympic swim team did their own cover, which played well during the Summer Games. They followed the lead of the Harvard baseball team (who were obviously on a long road trip).

But it appears pop stars Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez got the Carly craze started; Katy Perry (whose own hits, I Kissed A Girl and California Gurls were Songs of Summer) joined in, and Jimmy Fallon and the Roots did their own version with Carly.
