Verizon's TV Service Comes to NYC

NEW YORK, NY May 28, 2008 —Watch out Time Warner and Cablevision, millions of customers will soon have a new option for cable TV in New York.
A city board unanimously approved Verizon's bid to get in the game. The phone giant will soon begin a massive project to make cable and high-speed Internet available to all New York City homes by 2014, pending state approval.
WNYC's Richard Hake talked to New York Times Metro reporter Ken Belson on The Takeaway for more on the nuts-and-bolts of the deal.
