WNYC's Bob Hennelly has more on this year's surprisingly competitive contests.
No, there won't be any presidential preferences to sort through this time. But, voters will have to pick and choose from a half dozen candidates who want to be a U.S. Senator and 45 candidates who want to be one of the states 13 members of the House.
Normally, voters don't see a whole lot of Congressional turnover but this year is different. With a pair of GOP House incumbents retiring and one Democratic House member hoping to advance to the U.S. Senate.
In some these potentially low turnout contests, just a handful of votes could make all the difference. Take the 7th District, where no less than seven Republicans are vying to succeed Congressman Mike Ferguson, who is stepping down.
For WNYC, in New Jersey, I'm Bob Hennelly.
