Bell Protests Snarl Afternoon Traffic

by Amy Eddings

NEW YORK, NY May 07, 2008 —There were widepread protests this afternoon against the acquittal of three police detectives in the fatal police shooting of Sean Bell. The protests focused on busy traffic points, like the entrance to the Holland Tunnel and the approach ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge in lower Manhattan. And they appear to have gone on very peacefully.

WNYC reporters were in downtown Brooklyn, on the Upper East Side and at One Police Plaza in lower Manhattan. Siddhartha Mitter, Cindy Rodriguez and Arun Venugopal tell us what they saw.
