Local Superdelegates Hold Their Ground

by Andrea Bernstein

NEW YORK, NY May 07, 2008 —No sudden moves from eight undecided superdelegates from our region in the wake of last night's primary results.

Some Obama supporters are calling for an end to the Clinton campaign in the wake of her decisive loss in North Carolina and a narrower-than-expected victory in Indiana.

But Clinton is continuing to campaign and three superdelegates in New York and New Jersey and two in Connecticut have yet to weigh in.

New Jersey Senator Frank Launtenberg says he'll wait until the primary process is over, and New York superdelegate George Mitchell, a former Maine senator and Northern Ireland peacemaker, has also set a June target date for a decision.
