City Cuts Back on Parking Permits for Its Workers

NEW YORK, NY May 01, 2008 —25,000 city employees are losing their parking perks.
Following through on a promise to cut the number of parking placards, the Mayor has slashed the total number by 32 percent, so that there are now about 55,000 city employees who can park without penalty on city streets.
The police department gave up 20,000 placards.
