Elite Airline Files for Chapter 11
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY April 28, 2008 —The business class-only Eos Airlines has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is ceasing operations as of today.
The New York-based airline operated its final flights between London and JFK yesterday. Eos will eliminate most of its work force.
CEO Jack Williams says in a statement that the "challenging economic and credit environment" forced the company to file a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
