Small Upper East Side Parish Prepares to Welcome Pope
by Richard Hake
NEW YORK, NY April 18, 2008 —As Pope Benedict makes his way to spend the weekend New York City, last-minute preparations are being made for his arrival. His packed schedule includes visits to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a synagogue, a seminary and Yankee Stadium, as well as a parade up Fifth Avenue.
He's also visiting a small parish, St Joseph's on the Upper East Side. WNYC’s Richard Hake visits the last neighborhood in the New York's Catholic Archdiocese where mass is offered in German.
