Isiah Thomas No Longer President of Knicks

by Amy Eddings

NEW YORK, NY April 02, 2008 —Isiah Thomas is out, as president of the New York Knicks, at least.

New president Donnie Walsh, introduced today to the media, says he will wait a few days to decide whether to keep Thomas on as coach. Walsh, the former CEO of the Indiana Pacers, says he wants to talk to Thomas first.

WALSH: The conversation is to talk about team, how we got to point where we are, think there are some good players, and how to go forward, and that is conversation.

REPORTER: The Knicks are near the end of their seventh straight losing season. Team owner James Dolan says it's time for fans to feel proud of the Knicks again, and he says Walsh "represents hope."
