N.J. Farmers Protest Gov. Corzine

by WNYC Newsroom

NEW YORK, NY March 31, 2008 —New Jersey farmers are fighting Gov. Jon Corzine's proposal to get rid of the state's Agriculture Department.

The administration says the move would save the Garden State $4 million, but critics say it would chase away farmers.

They're planning a protest at the Statehouse tomorrow, featuring farm equipment and animals.
