Doctoroff Gets OK for Involvement in City Projects

by Bob Hennelly

NEW YORK, NY March 25, 2008 —The city's Conflicts of Interest Board has cleared the Bloomberg Administration's request to have former Deputy Mayor Dan Doctoroff continue to be involved in several high profile city projects and initiatives.

Doctoroff left his job heading Economic Development for the top post at Bloomberg LP back in January. The ruling allows Doctoroff to carry on his involvement in PlaNYC 2030, Moynihan Station, Queens West, the Hudson River Park Trust, and the Governor's Island Preservation effort.

Doctoroff has agreed to recuse himself however on any decisions involving Vornado Realty, the landlord of Bloomberg LP. and one of the key players in the Moynihan Station development project.

The former deputy mayor, like any other former high ranking city employee, is also prohibited from appearing on behalf of his current employer, or any other private company, before any city agency for a year.
