Paterson Backs Congestion Pricing

NEW YORK, NY March 21, 2008 —Gov. David Paterson has come our in support of congestion pricing. Gov. Spitzer had been in favor, but Paterson had reserved judgment. Paterson’s support is crucial for passage of the legislation which would charge drivers in Midtown in peak hours. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says a bill must pass both the Legislature and the City Council by March 31 for the city to receive hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funds for mass transit.
