Work Stopped at Trump Development

by WNYC Newsroom

NEW YORK, NY March 10, 2008 —A downtown Donald Trump high-rise under construction has been shut down for a second time after equipment struck and shattered several windows.

Buildings Department officials say that a cable at the SoHo project came loose during this weekend's heavy winds and struck the north side of the tower. About a dozen windows were cracked and glass rained down on the street. There were no injuries.

The DOB issued a stop-work order and cited contractor Bovis Lend Lease.

The site was shut down in January for several weeks after a construction worker fell more than 40 stories to his death.
