by Kathleen Horan
NEW YORK, NY February 29, 2008 —A hunt for Canada Geese starts tomorrow in 25 counties in upstate New York.

WREN: The accumulation of droppings and feathers on play areas and walk-ways such as state parks that children and others might have access to also the droppings significantly accumulate and turn into a nutrient load into ponds and other types of drinking water supplies.
REPORTER: : The hunt goes until the 10th - with a 5-bird-a-day limit.
Goose populations can also be reduced through puncturing their eggs or coating them with corn oil to prevent hatching -but only after getting authorization from state officials.
