Giants fans throng lower Manhattan for the ticker tape parade
Giants and Fans Enjoy Victory Parade in Lower Manhattan
by Amy Eddings
NEW YORK, NY February 05, 2008 —A heavy, gray sky did nothing to dull the mood in Lower Manhattan today, where thousands of football fans lined Lower Broadway to celebrate the Giants' Super Bowl victory Sunday with ticker tape and howls of joy.
REPORTER: At a celebration in front of City Hall, Mayor Bloomberg gave team members keys to the city. Defensive End Michael Strahan, who nearly retired before the season started, expressed amazement at all the hubbub.
STRAHAN: I waited 15 years, I never thought this would happen, and when it did, didn't know this magnitude.
REPORTER: Coach Tom Coughlin says he'll remember the parade, and the display of fan loyalty, for the rest of his life.
