NEW YORK, NY February 05, 2008 —REPORTER: The ticker tape parade along lower Broadway will begin at 11 a.m. at Battery Place and head north to Chambers Street for a ceremony at City Hall.

Mayor Bloomberg is warning people to plan ahead.

BLOOMBERG: There will be a lot of people coming downtown, we have no idea how many will come. But I've asked everyone who works in the area to have a little more patience and be prepared for extra traffic and street closures. Take mass transit.

REPORTER: The MTA says if you can, avoid taking the 4, 5 and 6 trains to the parade. Those trains are already packed with regular riders. The A, C, 2, 3, R, W and J trains are other options.

Metro North, the Long Island Railroad and NJ Transit have added extra trains tor cars to accommodate fans commuting from outside the city.

Traffic is expected to be impossible and motorists are strongly urged to avoid lower Manhattan.

The MTA says the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be especially backed up from the morning until 2 p.m.
