Chance to Vote Again in NJ
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY February 01, 2008 —If you live in New Jersey and have already voted in Tuesday's primary by absentee ballot, but your candidate is no longer in the running, you now have a chance to change your vote.
Voters must go to the county clerk's office by 3 pm Monday afternoon and sign an affidavit stating the candidate they voted for is no longer running.
The clerk can then decide if the voter gets a 2nd ballot. Anyone denied can appeal to a Superior Court judge.
The state recently loosened the rules on absentee ballots - you don't need an excuse now. And tens of thousands of New Jersey voters have already cast their votes.
