NEW YORK, NY January 28, 2008 —As he drops in the polls in Florida, Mayor Giuliani is speaking to small but ardent crowds around the state. WNYC’s Andrea Bernstein reports from Sanford, Florida.
REPORTER: Beginning his day in Orlando, the former Mayor is stopping in Clearwater, Ft Myers, and Fort Lauderdale before holding a final rally tonight in Miami. In each campaign stop, the former Mayor who once brooked no dissent is beseeching opponents to stay positive.
GIULIANI: My opponents are fighting with each other, calling each other names, let them do that.
REPORTER: But many supporters of Mitt Romney and John McCain say they have genuine policy differences about whether they want a conservative with a business background or a war hero.
