D'Amato Endorses McCain
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY January 23, 2008 —REPORTER: Republican presidential candidate John McCain stopped in the city last night for a fundraiser.
He also picked up the support of former New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato.
D'AMATO: And I believe that the Democrats are very, very fearful of John McCain. So my support for him is not because there is somebody else in the wings, whether it's Giuliani or someone else in the wings that I may have differences with, even though that may be true.
REPORTER: D'Amato and Guiliani had a long-simmering feud during the 90s, during which the former mayor publicly attacked D'Amato's ethics.
