Hearing Tonight on Toll Hike Plan
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY January 22, 2008 —Governor Corzine's plan to increase tolls on the turnpike and parkway will face its first public hearing today.
The New Jersey State Senate will consider the plan to reduce the state's debt.
Corzine wants the plan approved by mid-March, but a new poll shows opposition to the plan. The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll found 57% of voters oppose the governor's plan.
