Performers Named in Steriod Probe
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY January 14, 2008 —In addition to baseball players Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, some big-name entertainers are among the thousands of people whose names are turning up in an investigation into steroids and human growth hormone.
According The Times Union of Albany, entertainers Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Wyclef Jean and Timbaland have all been named in connection with a steroid inquiry being conducted by Albany County district attorney David Soares.
Officials with the DA's office say it doesn't mean the celebrities broke the law. In fact, they're focusing on the doctors, pharmacists and anti-aging clinics who allegedly provide the drugs without seeing patients.
