Service Changes to 7 Train
by Marc Garber
NEW YORK, NY January 11, 2008 —Starting this morning, there will be no weekday express service on the 7 line. All trains will make all local stops, in both directions, through February 29th.
The MTA says that means an estimated 7 minute addition to a commute between Flushing - Main Street and Times Square.
And, beginning tomorrow, for up to 5 weekends, the 7 train will skip all stations both ways between Flushing - Main Street and Woodside - 61st Street.
New York City Transit says the line's signal system is being modernized to allow faster and more efficient service. For WNYC, I'm Marc Garber.
