NEW YORK, NY January 02, 2008 —The Police Department says a burglary suspect died while in custody, before charges were filed against him.
The suspect was arrested after officers responded to a 911 call yesterday afternoon, concerning a burglary in progress in the Bronx.
After the suspect was arrested, but before he was taken to a local precinct for charges to be filed, police say the suspect became unresponsive and unconscious.
He was later pronounced dead at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. A medical examiner is expected to determine the cause of death.
