NEW YORK, NY December 26, 2007 —REPORTER: Ariel Zwang, the executive director of New York Cares, says this month's collection efforts are way behind last years'.
ZWANG: I'm sorry to say that we actually need extra help this year to get as many coats this year as we had last year. Last year, we had 89,000 coats. Everyone of them was needed and used. This year we seem to seem to be tracking about 10% behind last year.
REPORTER: Zwang says New York Cares is accepting coat donations through the end of the month.
Visit the organization's Web site at NYCares.org for more information and donation locations.
