Public Library Begins Overdue Cleaning
by WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY December 20, 2007 —The New York Public Library's main building in midtown will be undergoing a three year restoration of its facade, stairs and plaza.
The $50 million project is expected to be completed in time for the landmark building's centennial in 2011.
Some of the restorations goals include cleaning the building's white marble exterior and the installation of lighting to make it a nighttime attraction.
