Hillary Clinton on the Campaign Trail in Iowa
by Andrea Bernstein
NEW YORK, NY December 14, 2007 —Democratic candidates fanned out across Iowa after yesterday's debate, in an effort to persuade undecided voters to come out and vote on January 3rd in a race that's too close to call. WNYC's Andrea Bernstein traveled with the Clinton campaign to Shenandoah.
REPORTER: With just 3 weeks before the Iowa caucuses, many Iowans say they haven't made up their minds yet, even those who turned out to see Hillary Clinton. Last night in western Iowa, Clinton claimed she was the candidate.
CLINTON: You get change by working for it, it takes perseverance, persistence and perspiration.
REPORTER: By contrast, in yesterday's final democratic debate in Des Moines, Barack Obama said he would bring a fresh vision to the White House and John Edwards said he was the one who could reduce corporate influence in Washington. For WNYC, I'm Andrea Bernstein in Des Moines.
