Eldridge Street Synagogue Restoration Complete After 20 Years

NEW YORK, NY December 02, 2007 —Later today, a National Historic Landmark on Manhattan’s Lower East Side will show off its 20 year restoration. Built in 1887, The Eldridge Street Synagogue severely deteriorated over time, but now it finally returns to its original spectacular glory. WNYC’s Richard Hake visited as workers were busy putting the final touches on a house a worship that welcomed the great wave of Jewish immigration.
