Two Plays That Upset and Excite
Theater Review | 'Black Watch' and 'The Overwhelming'
by Soterios Johnson
NEW YORK, NY
November 14, 2007
—Two plays are running off Broadway right now that address some heavy subjects. St. Ann's Warehouse presents Black Watch, which is based on interviews with Scottish soldiers that returned from the Iraq war, and Roundabout Theatre Company's The Overwhelming, deals with the horrors of the genocide in Rwanda. Both share a take on geo-politics that may upset and excite. Theater critic Alisa Solomon joins WNYC's Soterios Johnson to discuss these plays.
