Sen. Clinton Accuses Bush of Recklessness on SCHIP

NEW YORK, NY October 15, 2007 —Senator Hillary Clinton is blasting President Bush for vetoing the federal children's health care bill.

REPORTER: At a fundraising luncheon for women candidates in New York City today, Clinton accused the president of financial recklessness.

CLINTON: Never paying for the Iraq war, never paying for the tax cuts for the wealthiest of Americans, Why he would decide to veto bi-partisan paid for health care for children. There could not be a starker example of the bankruptcy of this administration.”

REPORTER: Clinton's appearance at the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee launches a weeks worth of events designed to appeal to women voters. Republican contender Fred Thompson is also in town. He attends a reception hosted by the state's Conservative Party tonight.
