Angry Yankees Fans Say It’s Time for Manager to Move On

NEW YORK, NY October 09, 2007 —Yankees pitcher Chien Ming Wang and a few other players cleaned out their lockers at Yankee Stadium today.... while questions continue to mount as to whether team owner George Steinbrenner will start a major housecleaning of his own.
REPORTER The Yankees' season ended with last night's 6-4 loss to the Indians, the third year in a row the Yanks lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Mike Mishkin, a fan from Atlanta, says manager Joe Torre's got to move on.
MISHKIN: I think he's gotta go, he should have gone last year. good manager, but needs a change. three years in a row to be bumped off in first playoff game, not good.
REPORTER: Hank Steinbrenner, a son of the owner and a team senior VP, says nothing has been decided yet about Torre...or about key players like catcher Jorge Posada and closer Mariano Rivera, who can become free agents after this season.
