Giuliani Takes Campaign to London
by Andrea Bernstein
NEW YORK, NY September 19, 2007 —Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani took his Presidential campaign far afield today -- to London. WNYC's Andrea Bernstein has more.
REPORTER: Acting very much like the head of state he wants to be, Giuliani met in London with Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former Prime Minister Tony Blair. In fact, the former Mayor, when asked if he could do business the new prime minister, spoke as if he had already been elected.
JOURNALIST: Could you do business with Prime Minister Brown?
GIULIANI: Absolutely, Sure, American Presidents and British Prime Ministers can do business with each other they have through thick and thin for a very, very long time.
REPORTER: Giuliani's trip to London includes a fundraiser with ex-patriot Americans, and two events designed to boost his conservative credentials in the U.S. He's holding a photo-opportunity with Winston Churchill's granddaughter and delivering the inaugural "Margaret Thatcher Bridge Lecture."
