Clintons Campaign in Key Primary States
by Andrea Bernstein
September 02, 2007 —Senator Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill are appearing at a series of campaign rallies in the key primary states of New Hampshire and Iowa this weekend. WNYC's Andrea Bernstein has more.
BERNSTEIN: Even though labor-day is the usual start to a general election campaign, Senator Clinton is pushing the tradition up a year earlier, billing a series of campaign rallies in New Hampshire and Iowa as her "fall campaign kick-off."
In another sign of the contest's early intensity, the Clinton campaign has organized the first press plane of the race. The Senator will be joined by her husband, the former President, who remains a popular figure in Democratic circles.
Meanwhile, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is taking a break from his Presidential campaign this weekend. Next week he campaigns in the midwest and the south. Both Giuliani and Clinton will be in New York City September 11th at the official ceremony commemorating the victims of the World Trade Center attacks.
