Work Underway on Pulaski Skyway

WNYC Newsroom

NEW YORK, NY August 27, 2007 —The Pulaski Skyway is about to get a ten million dollar facelift. The first phase of a yearlong repair project on the three-point-five mile span, which connects Jersey City to Newark, is due to start today.

The 75 year old skyway is considered one of the worst in the state. It's used by about 100,000 vehicles daily. State transportation officials say the skyway isn't unsafe, but they recently listed it as one of the eight bridges considered top candidates for repair or replacement.
