by Bob Hennelly
NEW YORK, NY August 15, 2007 —The New York Police Department has released what it calls the first comprehensive analysis of homegrown terrorism and the path people take to becoming radical Islamists.
According to the NYPD, homegrown terrorists are self-motivated, and decentralized, posing significant challenges to law enforcement agencies. and it says the threat of homegrown terrorism is growing and extremists have "permeated" New York City's Muslim community. WNYC’s Bob Hennelly reviews the report, and concerns raised by Arab-American groups, with WNYC’s All Things Considered host Amy Eddings.
