Timely Mayors’ Conference on Guns, Days after Virginia Tech Shooting
by Amy Eddings
NEW YORK, NY April 18, 2007 —Mayor Bloomberg invoked the deadly shooting at a previously scheduled conference on illegal guns, saying the death toll is repeated every day across America as a result of gun violence. Bloomberg and others in his coalition against illegal guns launched an ad campaign to lobby Congress to allow local police more access to federal gun tracing data. WNYC’s Bob Hennelly attended and spoke with WNYC's All Things Considered host Amy Eddings.
