Tamango's Urban Tap Brings Carnival Onstage

by Amy Eddings

NEW YORK, NY March 23, 2007 —When the dancer known as Tamango came to the U.S. he had only $300 dollars and a pair of tap shoes. He’s gone on to create productions that break new ground in dance, music and video arts. Tamango’s latest project is called "Bay Mo Dilo -- Give Me Water," a celebration of his creole heritage. Amy Eddings spoke with the freelance dance critic Claudia La Rocco about the event.
