New Jersey Legislature Considers Ethics Reform
by Amy Eddings
NEW YORK, NY January 05, 2007 —New Jersey has long struggled with political corruption, and former governor and State Senate president Richard Codey is offering a series of proposals to firm up legislative ethics. Some of his proposals include a ban on all gifts to legislators from lobbyists -- regardless of their value -- and an extension of a state anti-nepotism law to local governments.
Former governor Codey outlines his proposals for WNYC's All Things Considered host Amy Eddings and explains why he's doing this now.
